There is something in you that has never forgotten.

Underneath the roles you've learned to play, the ways you've learned to be small or acceptable or strong enough — underneath all of it — there is a woman who knows herself through her body, her relationships with other women, her connection to the land, and her own living spirit.

That knowing was not lost by accident. Patriarchy and colonization systematically severed us from it — from our bodies, from each other, from the earth beneath our feet. What we are reclaiming is not new. It is original.

Our real safety and security has always lived in land, women, body, and spirit.
This weekend, we return to all four.

The Retreat

Rooted & Returned is an intimate weekend retreat held at Sunrise Ranch in Loveland, Colorado — a small circle of women coming together to do the real work: not performance, not spiritual bypassing, not more ways to manage or optimize ourselves, but genuine return.

Return to the body, to honest relationship with other women — including the parts of those relationships we've been taught to hide. To grief, to life force, to passionate desire, to our inherent sexuality, to our true boundaries, to the dark and the radiant feminine. To ourselves as women who are essentially, irreducibly of the earth.

What We'll Move Through Together

Somatic & body-based practices
Grief, rage & life-force energy
The authentic & dark feminine
Touch, consent & body mapping
True sisterhood — shadow & all
Attachment styles
Identity & lineage
Meditation rooted in the body
Commitment, presence & accountability

We will not be bypassing the hard parts. We will be walking directly into them — together, with care, with skill, and with the understanding that what has been named can begin to be healed.

We'll name the ways women have been turned against each other. We'll make space for real feelings — not curated ones. We'll move, rest, speak, and be witnessed. And we'll leave with a commitment not just to ourselves, but to the circle of women we've become.

If something in you recognized itself here — that's your answer.

What You'll Leave With

You will leave this weekend with something that cannot be forgotten. A deeper relationship with your body — her wisdom, her hunger, her grief, her power. A new fluency in what you actually feel, and the capacity to say it.

A thread of real connection to a circle of women who have seen you — maskless, raw, open, fierce, vulnerable, true. Not the version of you that's learned to be acceptable. You will leave with a living commitment — not a resolution, but a vow you made out loud, to yourself and to your sisters.

You will carry home a felt sense of what it means to be safe in your own skin and what it means to be safe among women. Not the safety of managing and containing yourself, but the safety of being rooted — in your body, in the earth, in the truth of who you are as a woman before the world told you who to be.

Rachel Balkcom

From childhood, Rachel Balkcom has been a keeper of secrets — the one people turn to when something feels too heavy to say out loud. That thread has followed her into adulthood, shaping both her personal and professional life. She is deeply attuned to the dynamics we create with one another, and she often sees clearly the patterns that lead to suffering in relationship. Her instinct is to help people stay in the relationship and the inquiry — not because staying is always the answer, but because "together" can take many forms, and those forms are worth exploring with honesty, care, and courage.

Her work is rooted in a wide lens on relationship: not just romantic partnership, but our relationships with ourselves, our bodies, each other, society, and the living world. She works primarily with women, creating spaces for deep listening, embodied awareness, and honest exploration. She holds a Master's degree in Philosophy and a Certification in Somatic Sex Education from the Institute for New Paradigm Intimacy, accredited by the SSEAA. With over 20 years in education and leadership, her work bridges intellectual and embodied practice, exploring how inherited systems shape the ways we love and relate. She brings both professional training and lived experience — including work with attachment dynamics and intentional community — into spaces designed to support deeper awareness, authentic expression, and a grounded sense of belonging.

Space is small and intentional.
We'd love to meet you, go deep with you, get real with you.
